Ever hear of this restaurant

Obesity is a huge problem, pun intended, but I'm pretty sure this isn't a great solution. I might be able to get behind, pun intended, the getting spanked by the hot nurse though.

I wonder how many obese people have underlying medical problems that have not been diagnosed?

I suspect that is part of the problem.

Also, I suspect that a good number of obese people are using food, like a drug, because of trauma from child abuse, etc.

I attended a church supper with my mom many years ago. We were seated at a table when two people, who probably weighted over 600 pounds added together, came in and sat at our table. When the platter of meat was set down, one grabbed it and emptied half onto her plate. She passed it to her companion who slid the other half off on his plate, then passed my mom the empty platter. The table attendant took the platter to get it refilled it, but by the time she returned those people had finished and commandeered the meat plate and repeated the process of "hogging" the meat. When my mom asked for more meat, the attendant said they were only allowed to refill the serving dishes twice. So the heavy people got all the meat and the other people at the table didn't get any. My mom and I never went back to that church for any of their dinners.

According to the most recent data at the CDC, etc., over 40% of our population is substantially overweight. This is the root cause of many of our nations health problems...stroke, heart attacks, cancer, etc. This is a condition that seems to be across all ages....even young people who used to get outdoors and burn of their calories, are now spending more of their free time texting, tweeting, and snacking.

Getting out in public and observing people clearly shows the number of those with bulbous bellies and behinds, as they hobble around at the stores, etc., filling their grocery carts with snacks, beer and diet soda.

We all get to help pay for their slovenly lifestyle habits with the high costs of health insurance. Smokers have had to pay a premium for their health insurance for decades....overweight people should be treated the same, IMO.

There are a few who have an underlying condition which contributes to their weight....Thyroid issues, etc., but the vast majority gain weight due to poor eating habits, and lack of physical exercise.

Even this recent Covid pandemic shows the risks of obesity....a disproportionate percentage of those who became serious ill, and/or died, were overweight.

Doctors in the US are very good at treating obesity, since it's so prevalent. They know to check for diabetes, cardiac & liver problems, blood pressure issues, gastrointestinal issues, edema, high cholesterol, addiction and depression. They don't hesitate to refer obese patients to a psychologist.

My liver doctor blames the lack of "living foods" in the American diet; chemically altered and overly-breaded meat, nutrient deficient over-cooked vegetables, grain fillers and other artificial additives, and it's either overly sweetened or contains way too much sodium.

I think he's right.

I saw ads for this place years ago. It's amazing that they're still in business.
"If you're already sick & dying, we'll help you speed up the process."

An article I read about that place a few months ago said that 3 diners actually died there. One on the way back to his car, another while inside the restaurant, and the 3rd one died at home a night or 2 after he ate there.

Also it said all the waitresses are CPR certified and there's 2 or 3 defibrillators on the premises.

Heart Attack Grill
Yeah, they have been around for a while. Never eaten there, and probably never will.

Kind of an interesting place and guy who founded it. Supposedly he was a nutritionist and gave up trying when his clients wouldn't follow his instructions. Started the place to in a very strange way promote good eating. He has the ashes of a guy who died of a heart attack in his place on display. And he has often challenged other fast food places like McDonalds and Burger King to do the same.

They certainly practice truth in advertising.

I cannot wait to get to my sister's house to eat some fresh veggies from her garden. Looking forward to fresh pinto beans, new potatoes, okra & tomatoes, green onions etc. Will also bring home plenty of home grown tomatoes for tomato sandwiches on white bread and Hellman's mayo! I will have those sandwiches with a large glass of 2% milk as long as they last. Before the tomatoes go bad I will freeze them for soup this winter!

I’ve walked past that Vegas location many times. The place was always busy. My friend went because her husband wanted to try it. She likes greasy burgers, etc, though this place was just too rich even for her. People love to brag that they’ve eaten there.

I’d be curious how many 350+ pounds people go in there in a day. They must limit them to x times per month.

Unbelievable how rude some people can be!

They were "Hogging the meat?" Was it Pork Chops?
I understand where those two were coming from.
They were in church to pray for a cure for their protein deficiencies. When they saw all that meat, they realized their prayers were answered.
It was like.....a message from above.
:ROFLMAO:

Gawd. Basso is a dyed in the wool hypocrite. "I’m reflecting society," Jon Basso explained in the episode, which focused on gluttony. "I’m only doing to [the customers] what they want me to do." Bullpucky! What he's doing is enabling and taking advantage of the morbidly obese by professing to be "helping" them recognize and admit to their food addiction through humiliation/making an example of them while making available copious amounts of unhealthy food and rewarding those who are over 350 pounds with a free meal. Yeah, that's really "helping" them. Meanwhile, he's filling himself up with profits. Way to go, Basso!

People who don't finish the Quadruple Bypass Burger Challenge meal get "punished" by being paddled by sexy "nurses". This tells me that some people go there with the intention of NOT finishing their meal so they can get their rocks off/be humiliated in public, and others go there to watch it. I don't even know where to begin...

Eat there? I'd sooner firebomb the place.

Basso is a disgusting individual. In my book, he's mentally ill. This isn't the kind of "help" people with an emotional eating disorder need. A diet won't fix anything for most obese people because it's not a food problem. Overeating is an emotional problem that they try to soothe by overeating. They comfort themselves with food. Hence the term "comfort food."

Please excuse me. I feel sick to my stomach.

Bella ✌️
