Ever Meet A Really, Really Interesting Person Or Persons?

I now know two:

A friend of ours, who is married to a lady that my wife graduated high school with. He worked, and retired, from Ford Motor Company in Detroit. He is like a "walking encyclopedia"! IOW, he knows about a lot of stuff, unfortunately, nothing about ranching/cowboy/rodeo life, farm life or mountain wildlife, but other than those, quite a lot.

Last night, while at a taco party in our complex club house, wife and I met and talked to the second "most interesting person I've ever met". Turns out he, like myself, have done a number of cool things in life. He is now 76 yrs old. He spent years in law enforcement, as both a patrolman and a homicide detective. He was a trick-rider in rodeo's. He spent some years in aerospace working in security with a very high security clearance. He had us in total "listening" mode, as he talked about his time in law enforcement. Some ladies were at the table by us talking, but my wife sat at the table with me and him, listening in all interest. Wife had absolutely no interest in talking with the ladies, only hearing this guys stories.
His law enforcement days were in St Louis.

Both wife and I look forward to speaking to him again sometime.

Quite a few years ago when my Mom was still with us we decided to take a road trip across country. Our van broke down in either Texas or New Mexico, not sure which. The hubby got someone to tow it to the nearest station which consisted of about 5 businesses down the main street. Not much to do but sit on an old sofa in the dirty greasy station and wait. In walked a man who seemed to be friends with the owner. Soon he came over, introduced himself and sat down with us. He was one of the most interesting people I ever met. He was a rancher, he told us stories about the surrounding area, life as a rancher and so many interesting details about life in that part of the country. Our van took hours to fix but the time went by in a blink of an eye because this man took the time to sit with us. I can't even remember his name but I will always remember the stories he told us and how he made, what could have been, a very boring afternoon into a very enlightening one.

I've met some interesting people, but I can't say one sticks out as being better. Maybe if I start to go to places other than the grocery store,I'll meet someone some day !

I met a guy who thought he was extremely interesting. Anyone you could mention, in the entertainment biz, he knew, and had stories to tell about. I made him as a con man, within the first five minutes of talking to him. Unfortunately, he took my (then) trusting mil for about $30 G's, and then disappeared with his extremely strange ten year old son.
