Ever Use Clear Spray Lacquer?

I first used a can of it to spray parts of a Halloween costume and it really made parts of the costume shine..........amazingly.

I just finished using some on our old small indoor Nativity Scene and boy did it make figurines shine. Again, amazing!

caution! check spray on very inconspicuous spot on whatever you're working on. was once doing a craft with cookie tins. had spray painted tins/lids. then stenciled some holiday things on them. them gave them a liberal spray of a clear lacquer. watched in HORROR as the entire surface crinkled up like an alligator's skin!!

Yes, I use it on various things but mostly small wood projects like shelves and carved pieces. Like wcwbf cautioned you shouldn't use it on something you've just painted but I don't think it causes all paints to crackle, only water-based ones, in my experience. Enamel paints aren't effected by it after they're well cured.

My father had used Krylon and other spray lacquers, and I've also used them in a variety of wood and craft applications. Another word of caution: be careful to use such products in a well-ventilated area.

Ya know, ClassicRockr. Nobody has ever asked me that question. But what's strange is that I just was on YouTube to see how to spray lacquer a faded table top.
