Ever Wonder About Certain Things?

Sometimes I will stare off into space and wonder about things. One example is: I wonder if most people on this planet realize they are living entities? I see them bustling about, ostensibly with a goal in mind, yet their faces are either blank or buried in a cell phone these days.

I watch people in our dining room eating. I know that is rude, but it is amazing how strange some of them attack their food.

There are numerous things to wonder about. Can you share what you wonder about.

Of course, you may wonder why I chose such a topic.

I sometimes look around at the people buried in their phones and wonder why they no longer want to visit at the table during break. But when they do talk it's about stuff that happened on tik tok. 🙄

I wonder what is going to happen to the world in the future with the way things are going.

I often wonder what I would do with all the money if I won the Powerball jackpot....give a bunch to homeless veterans....then buy a nice cabin in the mountains...gift only daughter with money so she could retire...maybe buy a collection of classic cars and a big warehouse to store them in.....throw a huge destination party for my friends.......but then I realize I would have to actually buy a ticket but I don't like the odds.

I wonder how many people in my building stay inside all the time and whether they are okay or sad. The most popular activities our building puts on attract at most 40 people but there must be 200 or more in the building. (Though some of the people I don't see at our activities I do see at club activities, gee I wonder if they don't like us, ha ha).

I wonder:
What happened to humanity?
What happened to friendliness?
What happened to helping a neighbor?
What happened to patriotism?
What happened to morality?

.... And yeah, I could go on, but too sad to wonder more. 🥺
Patriotism? Very little these days and hasn’t been for the past several years. The last sign of Patriotism that I saw was on 9/11/2001. When every other house had a U.S. flag hanging on display. It was a very patriotic time. Americans finally came together because we had a single cause.

I see all of those in my friends and family.
Yes, I see those traits in most people we know, but I do see a lot of negativity even on this forum. I truly believe people are conditioned to feel they must find someone to blame for things they do not like or things in their life that have not played out the way they wish.
I accept full responsibility for the direction my life has taken and the results that were achieved or not achieved. I do not have any regrets.

I'm going to say it. *sigh*. As Samuel Johnson (1776) wrote, ""patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel". I see "patriotism" used today, mostly, to justify heinous beliefs and acts.

Morality is also problematic, since it's mostly - apparently - based on a Christian belief system. Christian beliefs in the US have been shrinking for decades.

My hope is that we reach a point where we value life, humanity, friendliness, and helping neighbors at a level above other doctrines.

I wonder at you, how observant you are, how quick witted you can be, how soft and gentle but when needed state your mind clearly and truthfully. You yourself are a Wonder Lewkat and I love that you are here with us 💗

@Lewkat - good topic. I think in terms of If that tree-house- beat up barn etc, could talk what would it say?
I do people gaze and wonder, different things about other people.
On a funny side..if in the store and some wa-hoo coughs before I can cover me face - I wonder - um did they just give me TB, COVID, some other dreadedo_O disease ? Regardless Lewkat my wonders vary depending on the circumstances, but your not alone in your thinking.

This will probably sound strange but sometimes when I am on this site I wonder what people our current age would be talking on a forum like this 60 years ago if the technology had been available. Would they be complaining about the current music of the Stones, Beatles, etc. ? Would the "good old days" for them had been around the 1910's ? Would they talk about how exciting it was to take a passenger jet for their first time on their latest trip. I guess I just wonder about strange things 🤔.

And....
I wonder where that pea went that fell off my plate onto the kitchen floor?

Seriously though, I, like Lewkat, I find myself looking into mid-air looking for answers and most of the time never finding the answers.
