Every day fuel companies are laughing at us

Wanting to fill up, I drive along Wanneroo Rd in Perth.
Many fuel stations. As I drive I notice the price is ranging between $2.15 and $2.25 per litre.
I refuse to fill up when the price is an obvious rort so I do not worry about refuelling.
I have enough fuel to get me where I am going.
As I continue driving I come across a Liberty Fuel Station. Their price? $1.61.
This is when my disgust at the other fuel companies reaches a peak.
Ampol, Shell, Caltex, Puma, Mobil, United plus many more are raking in billions of dollars profit every year.
If Liberty can sell at $1.61 and still make a profit then there is serious gouging going on with the other stations.
Sure, nothing I can do about it, except not buy from those rorting the public.
What I would like to do is line up all the Managing Directors and their underlings and....

Bretrick: I know exactly how you feel. I refuse to pay over $2.00 per litre at the Ampol, Shell, Caltex and Mobil garages. We have a United
petrol station near my home and the average price is $1.65.

This is one of the greatest scandals of modern times, imo. And we know, prices go up, but rarely down. For the record, the gas station is likely making around 5 cents profit per gallon. The oil companies make around 30% profit per gallon. So on $2.25, the gas station is getting around 5% profit. So you can see where the money is going.

Energy companies on the other hand, because (OF COURSE) they're being forced to by circumstances raise prices. To quote" "Of the 45 energy firms on Forbes list of the 2,000 biggest companies, they made on average $237bn a year in windfall profits in 2021 and 2022, according to the research."

Hmmm. Looks to me as though the "crisis" might be, to a good extent, made up to increase dividend payments.

In the mean time, it is expected that Grocery Stores will exceed their record profits overall in 2023. Every little helps, I guess. Taking Sainsbury's (a UK grocer) as an example, they exceeded their profit projections by $30m this year.

I could see a 'cheap" gas station selling gas maybe 10, 20 cents cheaper than others. But 65 cents cheaper? I think you're right in thinking how can they make a profit. selling it so cheap. All gas is not "gas". Some of it maybe synthetic gas???? I don't think Liberty Fuel is losing 65 cents a liter out of the goodness of their heart- there must be a reason. Please keep us informed about Liberty's prices.

I checked the price at that fuel station this morning and it is $189.9 per litre.
United Fuel, along side of this station is at $161.5 per litre

In the USA one downloads the metro marts app and save up to $ 0.25 US a gallon...
Anywhere from $2.55 to $7.50 a gallon at the pump depending on the Gestapo States you may pass thru.
Maybe 1__ 1/2 the dealerships are accepting buyouts, won't sell or invest it training and charging stations for EV's.
What has happened to the Market creating business, not slush funds that are losing 10's of billions because of stupid.
