We have been taught by the adults that came before us, and corporations looking for ongoing profits all sorts of do's and don'ts.
Stepping back for a moment, evolutionary science often has a different viewpoint, based on hundreds of thousands of years.
I dated a PhD science lady some time back. She taught me a few things, and I have read and thought about others.
With weight gain, the human animal holds onto every calorie it can, as it doesn't know if it will not have another meal for weeks. Profit seekers intentionally get us hooked on high sugar addictive foods that are wrong for us to consume. The body recognizes the high density of calories and this is what we perceive as "tasting good".
We bathe too often. The protective layers of dead skin are a defense.
I am guessing that fingernail growth is a defensive weapon and useful tools.
I asked Bing about armpit smell and it told me where to buy deodorant. I am guessing there that pheromones are more pronounced so compatible couples make more babies.
Guessing beards and long hair are for warmth. So hey evolution why did you make me so bald?
