Eye doctor visit today

So I went this morning to have the eyeballs checked. There was some change to my distance vision, so he upped my prescription. I went to Lenscrafters again, where they digitally map your eyes. Apparently the cateracts the doctor saw last year have barely changed, which is a good thing. I ordered my new glasses, picked out some cool frames. Wire frames, but have a blue tint to them. My favorite color.
Funny thing, just yesterday I got a coupon in the mail from Lenscrafters for 50% off lenses. The guy I worked with, said, he could do better than my coupon with an in store special. So instead of saving about $75, I saved about $175 on the frames and lenses. I can live with that.

Cool Marie! Do you have astigamitism? Do you get progressives? I'm also thinking of going to Lenscrafters. I know my insurance won't cover it. Last time I went there I paid about $500. with the prescription and additions I wanted.

That's great Marie, glad you were able to save some money there. We're you able to go home with the glasses, did you get one pair or two?

On Tuesday I ordered my very first pair of eyeglasses, the two pairs at America's Best cost me $639.95 and I have to wait 2 weeks to get them, they send out of state to make the lenses. They are progressive lenses Digimax Ultra HD Polycarbonate with NeverGlare. Much pricier than I ever thought progressives would be, but I chose the one with the best field of vision.

I understand from what I've read online that you really have to get used to glasses with bifocals, like head in a fishbowl and walking downstairs can be tricky. We'll see how I do, hope I don't break my neck. :pđź‘“

I was diagnosed with astigmatism many years ago. Not sure if that is something that stays, or goes away over time.
@SeaBreeze No, I have to wait until next week to get the glasses, as the frames I picked were not in stock..they just had a display. I always get progressive as I cannot get used to the lined bifocals. Plus using the computer with the lines just does not work well.
I have worn glasses since my early 40s. At first just for reading, but soon needed them for distance as well.
