Facebook "inaccuracies" , fabrications and blatant lies

I do understand the desperate lengths Facebook will go to gather[read: steal] a user's information and behavioral tenancies, but it just gets old.
Example:

Today, is not Mel Brook's 100th birthday, he just turned 99 in June. :cautious: But this is just a minor example of the deception and fakery that abounds on Facebook.

Yea, I actually do have better things to do, but I needed to vent...
Glad I never joined any sites like facebook, twitter, etc. Everything I hear about those social media sites gets worse over the years. Too bad something that could be positive has turned into an angry deceptive sewer.

Someone earlier said they ditched Facebook months ago. In my case FB ditched me, but won't tell me why. When I asked if I could appeal the decision to put me in FB gaol, I got a dialog box in the middle of the screen telling me I had to provide a video selfie in order to prove I'm human, and not a bot of some kind.

Needless to say, I haven't bothered with that, and no doubt when the 6 months gaol term is up my account will be closed. Their loss.

There are some helpful support forums that would have given me some great ideas if I’d known about them at the time. One was for retinal surgery.

In Canada sites like FB won’t allow info from legitimate news sources. Not having a news story to fight about stops a lot of distortion. Some people complain that they can’t get any news now. Obviously if they have the internet, they can go directly to the online news source; much of it is still free.

I go on FB once a month or less, and only because I have far-flung friends and relatives. I rarely comment and only check in for people's personal news.

My home page is locked, meaning nobody can post on my page unless it's to answer something I posted.

Facebook is indeed Fakebook.
I have locked my homepage as well. My brother mentioned that he couldn't post, which on the surface is regrettable, but as he is an avid political poster on FB, I really don't want that on my home page, as I have in laws that I love and don't wish to alienate.
