While I may have mentioned my favorite 3 foods above, might I add that since I lost my sense of smell and taste after contracting this dastardly virus, I lost all interest in food whatsoever. Since my recovery, my smell and taste senses have returned to a degree, yet little appeals to me. I am more interested in coffee, milk and orange juice. Of course I realize at my advanced age, I'd already lost many taste buds. Goes with the territory, and this seems to have been the icing in the cake. I don't even enjoy looking at new recipes nor am I interested in cooking anymore. This will surely be a blow to my son when I get out of isolation since he loves my culinary concoctions. Hopefully, this too shall pass.

Lois you may find once you have to cook for someone else your interest will return, but I would imagine your lack of interest at the moment is simply because you've lost the ability to smell, or taste.. as did my o/h, ..but oddly he hasn't lost the sense of taste for alcohol. I'm being serious in case anyone thinks I'm being funny.. he has had to spice everything up to the Max to get even the slightest taste from anything, but he can still taste alcohol without any problems.

If he had to cook for himself he wouldn't bother because like you he has lost all interest in food.. and only eats because I nag him to do so...

Liver and onions.
Spaghetti.
Homemade beef stew.
I've cooked a lot for friends, but only had one who liked liver and onions. Whenever I'd make it, I'd be sure to invite her over and we would mourn for those who had no idea what they were missing as we gorged ourselves.

-Liver & onions
-Bacon
-Mashed potatoes
-Homemade gravy
-Peas

So very very good.

Swordfish Steaks
Grey Sole
Loin Lamb Chops
I just made blackened swordfish for dinner tonight. I was gonna make blackened tuna but I was out, and there wasn't enough time for a citrus marinade for the swordfish, so I blackened it. It was OK, but I prefer a lime-based marinade for swordfish.

It's funny, I've also started adding lamb chops to my meal plans, ever since the store had some on sale a while ago and I bought some. Marinate in olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, rosemary, thyme, then broil. It's a very nice change...not such a popular meat, for some reason. I pick it up cheap when it's been marked down and freeze it.

I've not had grey sole.
