My mouth has been watering for weeks for some fried chicken. Fried chicken is a favorite.
So is potato salad. Homemade stew is another. We used to calll it Irish Stew but any good
homemade stew will do. But at the moment and for the past three weeks I've been craving
fried chicken.

Lois you may find once you have to cook for someone else your interest will return, but I would imagine your lack of interest at the moment is simply because you've lost the ability to smell, or taste.. as did my o/h

Sorry to interrupt ... what is o/h?

Oh. I had no idea. Thanks
I’ve never had either.
If you happen by a Japanese restaurant around lunch time, you can get a "Box Lunch." It will contain several types of sushi. They have #1, #2, #3, etc. that have different combinations of stuff. I forget what else is usually in there, it's been so long.

It's not expensive at all...just like Chinese carryout. It's a good way to try it. It's very good.

For example, there is avocado and other stuff in the middle of a small log of sticky rice with seaweed wrapped around it. I cannot recall if there are any meat ones. Comes with dipping sauce & wasabi.

Every once in a while I'll get a coupon for Popeye's fried chicken: 8 pak, 12 pak, sometimes 21 pak. I'll buy one of those and freeze it. It comes back fine if you nuke it and then put in a toaster over to re-crisp.

Fried chicken is such a pain to make at home.

Oh that stuff. I’ve seen that before but must admit it doesn’t look very appealing to me. Perhaps I’ll try it someday . Thanks for letting me know. :)

I was hoping you'd weigh in here, @treeguy64! You've given me food for thought - please forgive the pun.

This will be a more of three of my favorite foods rather than my three favorite foods. I have so many foods I love that choosing three is tough. The first is easy because I do believe it's my favorite food in the world.

1. Crab - If I have to be specific, dungeness crab but I also love snow and king crab as well. I like soft shell crab as well but not as much as the other two. We eat crab as often as we can during crab season but that isn't often because we wait for decent prices. We just get three or four crabs (depending on their size), I pull off the legs and clean the bodies and then we just sit cracking and eating crab. We like to have champagne or viognier with our crab.

2. Perfectly ripe blackberries - I rarely get these because the ones sold in stores are often not ripe enough and all of the wild berry patches I used to know are no longer there or no longer accessible.

3. Perfectly ripe watermelon - This is hit and miss around here. I'm pretty sure we don't have any or many local farms that grow watermelon. I generally think the ones with seeds tend to taste better but I'd rather do without the seeds. I also think the seedless varieties have gotten better, but they're still hit and miss.
