Feast or Famine

Does this happen to any other readers, espec. those who use their local library? It seems like I'll go through a period of there not being much I want to read, not available anyway, and then a bunch of books I want all come in at once, lol. Anybody else?
yep used to happen to me all the time, but now I can't remember the last time I used the library..couple of years now I think. I got fed up with no new books coming in and the ever shrinking bookshelves making way for dozens of computers.... leaving hardly anything to borrow from the library that wasn't either fiction or a repair manual

Oh yeah, my wife and I both seem to cycle through periods where we read every evening and find many fascinating books, and other periods when streaming movies will keep us busy for weeks.

We have speculated that our two bichons may be influencing this decision by which room they chose to nap in after dinner. Getting on the couch in the living room means TV, going to the sunroom means reading. LOL, just who is leading who.

I find that also. I love to read biography's and have read most all the books about people I am interested in. Now all I see are figures from the sports world and politicians. Neither of which I'm interested in.
These days I get many books from my neighbors or friends. The books are usually fiction but at least I know it probably is a good story because they enjoyed it.
My library has a large selection that I can get on the Kindle. The only problem with that is if I don't like the book it counts as one less for the month and it doesn't matter how quickly I return it. We only get 5 a month.
Sometimes I like the audio books but because of my hearing problem I can't always understand the readers. I return it and that uses up another one for the month.
