Feeling my age

Sometimes I feel my age more than other times. I mean, not because I physically feel old because mostly I feel pretty perky, but at times like this morning when someone posted on Facebook that hearing 80's music that they were familiar with made them feel old.

Talk to me about "old" when you can remember being the first family on your entire block to have a TV, being one of the first to own a big, black, cumbersome, heavy, rotary dial corded phone, and needing to pee so heading out the back door, down the steps, and along the garden walkway to get to the toilet. It did flush, but did so by gravity...the sistern was suspended taller than head hight so gravity could do most of the work. Oh, and wiping with torn up squares of newspaper because there wasn't toilet paper yet.

So. Yeah, don’t talk to me about feeling old! 🤦🏼‍♀️

We live our lives in chapters. We've all been children. I remember singing along with the car radio to "Rock Around the Clock". We've all had our turn at every age decade leading up to the age decade we're living now. Just as we made the best of it through the Beatle years, we will make the best of it through our 60's, 70's, 80's, and even our 90's. Let's not dwell on a number. Enjoy what is offered to us in the decade we have now. It's our turn.

And, for those younger than we are and who judge us because of our age, their turn is coming.....if they are lucky enough to make it to our age.

Take care of yourself. Let's see how many more chapters we can live out. ;)
