Fire season-again!

Dense smoke in town from some of the five hundred fires burning in our Province (BC). Sun is a little red dot, sometimes obscured altogether. The light outside is an orange glow from diffused sunlight. The closest big fire is 20 miles away and under partial control but if the wind picks up it could sweep through here in a short time. A part of the city across the river is under evacuation alert.

Our greatest concern is the dense smoke here. It's hard on the sinuses, throat and lungs. We have two air purifiers going in the house and I just changed the furnace filters. We also have charcoal-activated face masks for when we go out and a fresh cabin air filter in the car.

My goodness, sounds like it's going up the entire NA west coast! Wear those masks and be safe~!

I was down in your area last week-end and the grass and underbrush are pretty lush and green for this time of the year. Our son says that they've had a decent amount of rain this summer, and they're not too far from you, over in Colchester..

Your son is correct Dave. We've had a lot of rain and it's humid and very green. Our walking paths in the woods are soggy. NJ and Boston had floods. Are you folks ok?

Wish we could send some of the rain to CA and BC!

Rose -- A bit of rain this week, mostly showers, but it's putting a little green back in the lawns. Our weather right at the coast differs from 15-20 miles inland.
