First and Second amendment

Talking with a friend about these two amendments the other day, just a friendly discussion. It was actually a side road we went down while discussing something else.

But in the course of that an amusing thought hit me. Right to free speech and right to bear arms, so…….

I can say whatever I want, BUT I better be careful what I say, because you might have a gun!!

Note: This is said in fun guys! I know both these amendments are very nuanced. I’m just being silly.

You raise a good point. It’s surprising at times how many people get shot for saying the wrong thing to the wrong person. If someone says something offensive to someone, they no longer give them a black eye or a swollen lip. Instead, they pull out their weapon and shoot them. For some, the shooter thinks that he was in the right for doing that. Others just don’t care. “He disrespected me and got what he deserved.” I know this from experience.

My son is a first responder. He also knows this from experience. Some of the stories he has to tell are shocking!
