Did you ever go to the doctor who after examining you for whatever made you go see him in the first place tell you that if you aren’t better in a week, come back and see me again? I have. When I had pneumonia back in the ‘70’s, it started with a horrible cold. Went to the doctor and he gave me two different pills and a bottle of cough syrup. About two weeks later, I was feeling worse, so I went back again. This time, he gave me an antibiotic. Same outcome. Two weeks later, I go back again and he gave me a stronger antibiotic. About a few day later, I woke up and could not breath. I also have just a small case of asthma. My wife goes into panic mode and wants to call an ambulance. I told her no, you take me. I go to the E-room at the hospital and I was diagnosed with double pneumonia. By morning, I am hooked up with two different antibiotics, one with a steroid in it and a bottle of Dextrose. Plus, Tylenol orally for the fever. I was in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks and darned near died. Yeah, they could have built a new wing onto the hospital for what I was charged.
