First openly trans woman is set to be executed in Missouri on Tuesday

The first openly transgender woman on death row is set to be executed on Tuesday for raping and murdering her ex-girlfriend whose body she dumped by a Missouri river.

Amber McLaughlin, 49, who transitioned in prison, will die by lethal injection 19 years after she killed Beverly Guenther, 45, who had taken out a restraining order and regularly had police officers walk her to her car out of fear for her life.

The execution is set to be the first death of a transgender person in the U.S. Before transitioning in 2019, she went by the name Scott McLaughlin.

It comes less than a month after the inmate asked Missouri Governor Mike Parson to spare her from death due to 'mental health issues.'

McLaughlin killed Guenther on November 20, 2003 and dumped her body in St. Louis, near the Mississippi River.

Formerly Scott, McLaughlin was sentenced to death by a judge in 2006 as a persistent offender to consecutive terms of death for first degree murder, life for armed criminal action, and life for forcible rape.

I was born and raised in the country. These trans folks sure got me confused.

Back in the country where I was born. Boys grew up to become men. Girls grew up to become women.
I guess things have changed? Now, I hear that this country has 73 genders. I hope that is a joke?

Yet another "Restraining Order" case where someone expected a paper document or a police officer to protect them.
Yes, "Gun Control People," no one should have a gun.........

Been tried and found to be offensive, here in Portland.

Does it occur to others here that what a lot of people are demanding now is not tacit acceptance or tolerance, but outright public adulation?

I mean, it's a lot like having your nose rubbed in dog crap and being expected to raise up your head, smile, and say you like it.

WRT equality/interchangability of the sexes, Dave Chappelle has a rather incendiary position:

"If the sexes are really equal, do we need a WNBA?"
 
Clearly this person had mental health issues and the trans issue is the least of them. I'm not for the death penalty myself. But this trans identity should have no impact on the sentence if that's what was handed down and the law of the state. I'd have the creep stay in prison for life.
