First place you drove to

I took driving lessons with a class of young people, when we lived in Niagara Falls in the early 80's.
It was a good place to learn, as it isn't a big city crowded with traffic.

Mainly, I drove to a friend's house, and basically, all over the city.

Have no idea where I first drove legally but growing up in the country I was driving tractors and farm trucks down the road at an early age. I even bought my first car when I was only15, no drivers license, no plates, no insurance. I drove it to school until they caught on I wasn't legal and banned my car from school property.lol

I suppose my first legal drive was home after passing my drivers test.

Took my sisters boyfriends 49 merc out so they could have some (alone) time. :) Headed to the parking lot of Mitchell's hamburger joint on 7th Avenue in Brooklyn where hopefully... there would be some street racers gathered in the parking lot and I'd get to see some exciting street racing out on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.

I was 18 when I got my first ever drivers license back in 68' while in the Army stationed in Panama and can't recall where the first place was that I got to drive alone....more than likely some place on base.

I don't remember where I went, but my BFF got her license before I got mine, and I remember using her new driving ability to take us to lectures at the local university (public lectures that anyone could attend).

I will never forget getting my license at 16 and taking my father's car out alone for the first time. I don't recall where I was going, but I vividly remember the elation as I drove down the street in that bright red Plymouth Fury. Such a high! Independence, wow!

I remember my first solo drive was to the local neighborhood grocery store about 1 mile from home. My mom sent me to get some hamburger. That would have been in 1968, I was 16 years old. But since we could drive at 14 with a learner's I was already a very experienced driver.
