I've been retired from my "day job" for several years.
My wife (public school teacher in NJ) is going to sign her retirement papers this winter, retire June 2020.
We've looked at a few retirement places (Villages in Florida, Tellico Village in Loudon TN ).
But looks like we will move to Southeast Delaware next summer.

We are looking at Independence of Millsboro, DE.
Anybody have any thoughts on it?
It is 55 and up, 400 existing residences.
Seems the peer group should help.
In the videos, and other pics, they look like very nice people.

I saw this quote on another thread

If mother nature doesn't get you, father time will. I'm looking down the road, and it's all uphill.

That's pretty much how I feel right now.
Just have to keep moving, and hope I am going in the right direction.

Thanks Suzy!
Property tax is low in DE.
Also, it's very different scenery from where we are now (all rolling hillsides in NW NJ)
Sussex County DE is coastal.

Our NJ country house was huge fun for me the first 25 years (huge firewood, etc)
But I can't do it anymore, nor my wife with huge veg. gardens.
Father time is catching me, like the quote says.

Welcome to our group, here.
I hope your upcoming changes will go well. I am sure you will find some understanding from others, here at this friendly forum.

Welcome @CountryBoy !

I live in central CT and never spent any time in DE. Sorry I have no help for you.
Coastal sounds good to me... or, you can heat without wood, but maybe your place is too big.

The climate in DE can't be that much different, maybe warmer and low taxes sound good to me.

Go where your heart leads you and good luck!
