First time selling on eBay.

Good Luck...

I've been selling on Ebay for 20 years.. but due to higher and higher fees, I now sell more often on Facebook Market place. Costs nothing to place and Ad, and no postage to send items, because the customer collects.

if it's something I want a worldwide audience for, then Ebay is the place...

Years ago I used to buy and sell regularly on ebay. Then they made it almost impossible to use their service without a paypal account. Wanting to have nothing to do with paypal, I stopped and haven't used ebay since.

The good news is that new rules of Ebay mean that Ebay will pay the sellers directly into their account rather than into a paypal account.

Buyers can still use paypal, but Ebay will take the money from Paypal and pay directly into the sellers Bank account..

I didn't know that. I haven't sold there since 2018. I used to be a powerseller there and it was exciting to wake up in the morning and have sales (and money!) to package up. I always said I made money while I slept. My biggest seller there was guitar strings and I did good.

My very first sale there was a buyer from the UK! A menu that was signed by the maitre d at the restaurant, Windows on the World, on top of the north tower of the world trade center. I was excited though sad to start selling my treasures.

me too..Power seller here too Kat... (y)

I stopped selling because of the ever increasing fees really.. and I don't miss the wrapping and posting at all anymore..

Guitar strings would have been easier to package lol...

I sold anything that was saleable, I;d go to Carboot sales on Sundays or Auction houses , and buy what was popular on Ebay at the time, clean them up,..make them look like new and flip them out again.

My biggest sellers were vintage home phones... and Cabbage Patch dolls ..but just about anything would be sold..

Now, I no longer go to Boot sales..or Auction houses.. and my own things either get donated or occasionally sold on FB marketplace
