First World Problems

So the swag bag is a mobile bill board? I never quite get the swag thing. Are millionaire movie stars really going to endorse a product they got for free? Is swag a coveted benefit or a nuisance? Why don't these advertisers or sponsors just buy a commercial or advertise in a trade magazine more.
