Fixing Things

Now that I'm asked, I am sadly realizing- I don't fix anything! Car, plumbing, electric- are all things I pay to have fixed. If dishes, etc break, I throw it out. Oh wait- I can sew on a button and replace the filter on the kitchen faucet.

Computer Printer.

Leaking ink.

By the way best way to clean ink off your fingers?

Any Chlorine Bleach like Javex. It comes off like magic. Put it on a paper towel. Also great for cleaning the toilet bowl.

I just pour some on a paper towel and leave it sit in the bowl overnight.

Today, I replaced a front wheel assembly on the refrigerator....it was seized up and wouldn't roll. I found that flaw a few days ago when I replaced a flaky temperature control. Hopefully, that will take care of refrigerator problems for awhile.

I enjoy fixing things...been doing it all my life.

I replaced all the light switches in our condo with the rocker variety. I also installed ceiling fans in all the rooms and some other smaller items.

We have really hard water too so it's a constant battle. I regularly remove the shower head, the faucet diffusers, and the diffuser on the kitchen sink and soak them in CLR to remove lime build up. A stiff brush helps in the removal.

Yesterday I mounted a powerbar on the face of my hobby table because I'm getting too stiff and old to crawl underneath to plug things into the wall socket. I have powerbars mounted underneath our recliner side tables to make it easier to turn on floor lamps and to plug things in.

I know what you mean about getting stiff and old. A while back, I replaced the vinyl tiles in one of our bathrooms. It's a small room, but it took me quite a few sessions to get it done. I can't stay down on all fours very long without hurting, and it's getting tougher to get up. I hate not being able to do things that used to be easy.
