Flash mobs!

I've known about Flash Mobs for about 3 years, and find them to be the most spontaneous and exciting form of entertainment there is!

They are most effective in public places like Malls, Civic Centers, Parks, and other places where many people congregate in their free time.

They begin with a single person arriving on the scene, either with a musical instrument or some kind of costume, soon to be joined by others until after a few minutes, an entire organized Mob is on the scene, bringing the full performance of what was begun by only one!

At first, the spectators are confused as to what is going on, and become more confused until they realize what is beginning to unfold! Then they stand wide-eyed and ovewhelmed with joy when the performance hits them full-force!

The biggest and best Flash Mob I've seen so far was at a park in Moscow, where a large group of Russians did a terrific performance on an American theme.

Never seen one for real, but have watched at least two dozen of them on youtube doing everything from funk, to big band, to Sound of Music, to symphonic. Love those videos!

Hey Ceecee,

There are a few Flash Mobs who do the "Ode to Joy" from Beethoven'e 9th Symphony, but the best I've seen is the one that erupted at a mall in Tokyo.

It begins with just a Bass Viol, but it winds up with not just an orchestra, but with hundreds of people in the upper galleries who sing the mighty Chorus .

Just go to YouTube and type in: Flash Mob Beethoven Symphony No. 9 Tokyo Mall

Yeah. Those are two of my faves. The Christmas Court one always blows me away. I have seen the Beethoven video too as "Hi" mentioned. Big fan of these.

Check out the Russian flash mob doing "Puttin' On The Ritz" in a Moscow location in 2012.

This one's really exciting...must be 2 or 3 hundred young people in that mob, and they sang the lyrics in perfect English. The choreographer was a genius!
