No small potatoes here! One Florida couple is celebrating the abolishment of a controversial policy that banned vegetable gardens on residential properties, and with it, the end of a 6-year legal spat with their village.

Good for them. I recently learned of the "right to dry" movement where 19 states have already passed legislation making it illegal for HOA's to enforce their "no clotheslines" rules. HOA- They belong in the lowest pit in hell. They are a bunch of busy bodies with a rule book. My ex lived in one, where you were allowed two pet cats. Someone from the HOA left a note that my EX's cat was seen actually looking out the window. OMG!!! She was fined $75 for starting her lawn mover 15 minutes before you were allowed. You can't believe the hassle she went through to put a temporary window air conditioner in a back bedroom. Each year, she got a print out of the HOA's rules-it was over an inch thick. Why anyone would want to live in a HOAs beyond me? Even masochists have limits.

I would think in these developments that pop up everywhere,the cookie cutters that the HOAs are expected but I totally agree that they are insane!

We live in a subdivision with an HOA; it doesn't bother me in the least. The rules are minimal and help to keep everyone's property looking nice, plus the HOA fees take care of street lights, the boat ramp, and a small park area maintenance/grounds keeping.
