A Florida home was shot up by a restaurant owners son after the occupant's daughter gave a bad restaurant review online.

Started when the online poster's disabled mom was denied service on her birthday. The daughter spurred a negative social media campaign against the diner.

A bad restaurant is supposed to give you indigestion or the runs, not bullets.

OH dear God!!

The restaurant owner said his ''business was ruined after the negative reviews''.... oh well, now it's your life Mister shooter... good going!! ....:crying:

Wow, I think the man's 2 friends should be arrested too. Especially the one driving the vehicle. One bullet just missed the husband's head by a few inches.

I'm guessing that diner will wind up closing down.

Floriduh you say, not in the least bit surprised it's flooded with cra, cra. I almost thought this was going to be a familiar town just maybe 20 or so from where I used to live. There were often back and forth little spats on a forum I frequent with a restaurant workers/owners and some posters.

That's why I only give reviews with my feet. But I have to say that Yelp reviews do influence my decisions, so I can imagine that it could influence the reputation of any business. You just never know about people.

Geez. When we were on vacation in New England we looked up local restaurant reviews.
There was an online battle going on between the restaurant owner and the reviewer who he knew. Turns out the reviewer was a young man that the owner's daughter had broken up with. The owner said he was on drugs and just out to hurt the business.
We steered clear just to avoid a potential situation on the premises.

Yes, things like this can get tricky, one of my meetup group owners and a friend at the time, who would kick people out of the group from time to time, she had a dental practice and those former members would flood review sites like yelp and even professional sites with fake complaint reviews. But it didn't matter, she was well known and her business is still thriving. Sad though because if you knew nothing about her, those reviews could have been very damaging to her practice as I'm sure such reviews have been to other businesses along the way.

I do visit review sites, but, I often will see what other reviews these posters make about other establishments just for a reference point of their fairness in posting.

I do reviews, but only, and I repeat.....ONLY, good-to-great reviews of a hotel or restaurant we've been to. I've done reviews on TripAdvisor.com and a few other places.

Come to think about it, which could be a thread of it's own, what about a fired employee who returns to company with a gun and kills workers. That happened in June 2017 in Orlando Florida.

Yes, people in Floridah, as a member here calls it, has several dangerous people living in it.

I do exactly the same thing

Being a Florida resident, I totally agree with you all. Just download WFTV Orlando news app and if there’s not at least two shooting daily, than something’s wrong. Don’t get me wrong, I love our little over 55 community, but crime is spreading like a wild fire. It’s best to be prepared. I am.

I'll give a business a review on Yelp or other site. I'm not quick to judge, I've worked in food service jobs and know that a restaurant can't always run at 100% customer satisfaction, especially if they are short-handed. If I'm just not impressed with a new restaurant(new to me) I won't bother to do a review, as there are other eateries to go to that I might want to do repeat business with.
Some people go out to eat and act like the restaurant staff should treat them like they are the only customers that deserve service. Then they nick pick, look for reasons to be rude and bully the wait staff. Those kind of people then give a scathing review, complete with personal insults towards the restaurant staff.

I'm moved to give a positive review when I'm pleased, less likely to make an issue over minor short comings in a dining experience, but to be accurate that almost never has been my experience.
