Florida Man Spares the Life of a 214 Year Old Clam

Love that attitude and the fact media news made a story about it. The kind of human culture story that needs to sink in to many of we planet overpopulated Earth monkeys whose selfish interests are destroying life on our precious fragile blue water planet. During my youth and early adult life, I did a lot of fishing and fish eating. After age 30 I increasingly became more the photographer, less the fisherman. During early years would enjoy catching and eating larger older mature fish but in my older years have returned to live another day most large older fish I catch especially those from natural wilderness environments.

Wow, that is some clam!

And I have some minor connect, I lived for a long time on Alligator Point, not many people do. Alligator Point is pretty small, it had to have come from near my house. I saw some pretty large clams, but nothing like that one. For whatever reason in Florida people don't usually take clams for eating, they are kind of few and far between, but can get big.

From the article:

the creature was dug up by Blaine Parker in Alligator Point, an off-the-beaten path beach on the Gulf of Mexico.
