Flu making a comeback?

After being absent in 2020 and 2021, influenza cases are making a comeback. And the flu is up-ticking late, now during the spring and summer--highly unusual! Three of my grandchildren in different families, who had not been in recent contact, have all come down with it in the last two weeks. Viral interference may be a factor; the flu has been out-competed by covid, until now. So perhaps the flu has evolved to meet the competition? Does that mean it will be more virulent, or just more transmissible? Stay tuned!

What general locations are you talking about?
The United States in general I think from what I have read. Don't know about other countries. Covid receives all of the attention in the news, but I have seen a few articles discussing the flu comeback on both television and in print,

Oh! This is news for me. Looking at the media for the last 2 years during Covid19, I learned that there were no more Dementia, Alzhemizer's, heart attacks, strokes or cancers. Everyone was dying from Covid 19 and Omicron, and those "Variations of Interest" and those "Variations of Concern." The media gave the world a nice holiday from all the other diseases. Now you are telling that the media is bringing all those bad things bad. Mmmmmm! Bad Media but it sure is powerful when it can control the comings and goings of diseases in this world?

Perhaps our doctors and scientist could learn something from Media as to how it controls diseases?

No flu due to social distancing and masks and lockdowns. Also people's immune system wasn't being exposed to the many usual everyday viruses we live with and are exposed to and our own immune system warded off.
