Flying to Costa Rica for now

Due to the escalation of middle Eastern conflict the family feels it's best to stay in Costa Rica to relax for a while. Everybody please stay safe.

Judging by your name, you live in New York City. I get it that domestic terrorism will now be exacerbated, but I'm not sure I would leave home because of it. In any case, enjoy beautiful Costa Rica. The rain forests there are so beautiful and the air is so pure. Safe travels!

I really enjoy going to Cosra Rica. So much to see and the golf courses are are so serene—hardly ever crowded.

I spend time with relatives in the Nitra Valley of Slovakia. My immediate family is boarding up their home waiting for me in Kansas. We are going to Costa Rica and here is why.

I'm sorry for seeming naive but are we in WW3? I haven't seen anything saying we are. And what good is boarding up the house?

Are people freaking out ahead of time just based on the fear the news stories create?

IMHO the Panama Canal would not be on any nuclear capable nation states strategic target. It's cross ocean route is too valuable lest nuclear adversaries care to waste valuable time and fuel steaming around Cape Horn. Also keep in mind that In the event of a global nuclear conflict I pray for the multinational scientific community on Antarctica because how will they survive?
