I would like to respectfully ask those of you, many more knowledgeable about eating and nutritional good/bad, to evaluate my "find" of yesterday. We have a store called "Dollar Tree", the products of which are nearly all one-dollar. I spotted the can shown below of Pulled Pork, similar size to a typical tuna fish can, the nutritional info looked unusually good, to me. I sought out my lady, who was perusing greeting cards, she immediately brightened up upon seeing the content. She loves the pulled pork offered at many of the buffets here. Anyways, the protein content is slightly higher than tuna, fat content a bit more than double, and carbs are 8g, comparisons being made of pork, 127g vs. tuna, 112g, almost the same serving size.
I've always felt tuna gave about the best "bang for the buck", nutritionally, but the pork looks good. Do not particularly like the ingredients, however, they are for the most part, "natural", more or less, I feel. Pork price, $ 1.00. Tuna often on sale for less, but regular price over $1.00. I get tired of lots of tuna, and fear the mercury scare. What do ya'all think? Thanks for lookin'! imp
