For all of the non E.V. drivers...

Here in the Toronto area yesterday....$1.24 a LITER, and 3.8 Liters equals a US Gallon. So, multiply $1.24 times 3.8 to get the US gallon, and then do the conversion from Canadian currency to US currency. $3.72 CDN equals $2.38 a US gallon. Ontario just REMOVED a 15 percent Provincial gas tax on motor fuels, and they also just removed the tolls on a major Ontario highway.

When was the last time a US State, county, or city REMOVED tolls from a road, or a bridge?

The US doesn't have many toll roads. Most of them are near the east and west coasts.
In my 69 years I've only paid a road toll 4 times, when I visited San Fransisco.

But we have to pay a toll to enter most of our state and national forests. I think that's basically the same thing, and we've got like 200 of those.

It's averaging $3.99 a gallon. Of course, having the third or fourth highest gas taxes doesn't help.
it's the taxes that make our Fuel so extortianately priced...... people think because our fuel is so expensive , we must be earning enough to afford it... but that's not thae case. The minimum wage here for over 21's is...just £12.21 per hour......and you have to work a whole day to earn enough to fill a tank..

Calif imports it's gas and charges a gas tax. We're paying $4 and change per gallon, but that's supposed to go up about 65-cents next month.

The price of gas will probably go down shortly before the next gubernatorial election (in 2026). And if that goes the way I think it will, it'll stay down.

£ (alt+156)

U.S gallon has 3.785412 liters. UK gallon has 4.546092 liters. Both have 4 quarts to a gallon and 2 pints to a quart. UK pint has 20 ounces and the U.S. pint has 16 ounces. The latter is pertinent when discussing how many pints of ale... til you drop.

U.K. Percentage of the pump price that is duty, VAT & environmental taxes/fees - 57.62%
U.S. varies by state and local, with federal being constant. That UK price per U.S. gallon, excluding their taxes is about $2.87, excluding U.S. taxes. 18.4¢ per gallon federal, so it now becomes $3.054 excluding state and local taxes. My state collects 26.4¢ per gallon, which would bump that $3.054 to $3.318. Currently the price up the road from me, is $2.89. That leaves an apples to apples difference of 42.8¢. The rest is difference in taxes, which we the people should be controlling... or not.

We don't drive much, when we do the distances to wherever we go is short. On average I fill up once a month & usually 6 gallons or less. Last fill was @$3.28 a gallon. Given gas prices can go up or down on average $240.00 a year seems reasonable to me.

Using a DC fast charger at a public charging station when away from home, an EV driver might pay 50 cents per kWh, or $201 for that much energy.

Using the most recent U.S. household average estimate of 17.11 cents per kWh, charging an electric car at home would cost about $68.78 per month. Using a DC fast charger at a public charging station when away from home, an EV driver might pay 50 cents per kWh, or $201 for that much energy.

I think I'll stay with $20.00 a month.
