Have you ever gone to a Corsetiere and been measured for a bra that REALLY fits? Were you surprised? I have recently lost 33 pounds and I have a special occasion coming up in September.. so I really want to look nice. Part of that is looking good in your clothes.. and a lot of that has to do with a properly fitted bra.. I was really shocked at how "off" I was in the size I had been buying. I was buying bras way to large in the circumference measurement.. and WAY too small in the cup size. It's amazing how much younger my profile looks now.. I never would have thought to purchase the size I actually need.

I was fitted after I lost nearly 40 pounds about 4 years ago. Sizing in the UK is very different though. In the UK you can be a size like 32FF.

I should get measured for one but have to wait until I can afford a good one.

Warner's makes pretty ones in larger sizes. But even those...I'm jealous of the colors and styles for cupcake sized folks. I'm petite everywhere else and a D cup. I shake my head at people who get implants, I'd be happy to donate mine. It would be interesting to get an exact fitting some time though.

I've never had that luxury. Don't know if there are any around my area. Always found buying bras frustrating. How you can wear one and fit rather well, then another brand in the same size, does not? It's the same with clothing. I have never found charts to be very helpful either. Chantelle. Is that available in major department stores?

I went to Nordstrom's... They do the fitting and bring the different styles to you to try on. I would think any of the higher end department stores would offer this service.

Yeah. I know what you mean. I was buying a 42C for years.. and my bust line looked OLD.. and low.. Imagine my shock to learn that my ACTUAL size is 36DDDD also known as 36G!! Now I have the support and room I've needed all along. It really makes a difference. The Girls are lookin' up.. lol!!

Here's the bra I chose.. Chantelle C Magnifique

That's a beautiful bra. I wonder what is my real size bra. We don't have any high end shops here. The highest end is probably Macy's.

Same here. But I get bigger and smaller with weight gain/loss.

I couldn't believe the size I actually was and the bra fit so well. And the fitting was free and the bra was not expensive.

Many major department stores in the UK have a free fitting service.

I'm still looking for the coolest (as in temp) bra for wearing in a hot climate. I've had many types of sports bras but none are cool enough. Thin, wicking, cool but supportive.

My problem is that Bali, where I usually get my bras, keeps discontinuing the ones I like best. I've always been grateful that I didn't have D cups or larger. My niece, who was so proud of her huge ones, now has to roll them up to get them into her bras. :D
She's 56 and a very large woman.
