For those that collect Quarters

I got very excited when a quarter came out with my youngest great granddaughter name on it-Maya. I was going to keep that brand new quarter for her until her birthday. Called my daughter who said that would be great except they were changing her name. 😮

And they went to court and changed it.

I love her new name, especially since they named her after me 😂. As for the quarter, well, I spent it. 😊

I found an American 'quarter' in my loose change today. Nothing strange about that...except that I live in England. It is exactly the same size and colour as our 10p piece.

For US people. Remember back when the state quarters came out...with each state and year of entry to union. I used to work in a store and would always have the collectors demand we look through all out quarters when giving change to get the state they wanted. Finally store manager put signs at each register that cashiers would not be doing that...they would get what they got

Never collected quarters, but as a young kid I collected pennies. My mother would give me 3 or 4 dollars. I would take them down to a bank, exchange them for rolls of pennies, then back up in the hills where I sat on an abandoned RR track and looked for the pennies I needed, then rolled them back up (I brought along a few to make up for any I found) and back to the bank where I changed them for the bucks to repay my mom. I eventually bought a couple, and with the exception of one WW2 copper I believe I had them all. Mounted them in a coin book, stashed them in a drawer where they were later stolen, probably by a cleaning lady. )-8
