This AM our daughter posted a news release about our former residence (located in another state). Seems an overloaded extension cord caused damage ($25,000) to the house we sold after retirement in 2010. It reported that several elderly were caught by the blaze/smoke but were saved by the local volunteer fire dept. We sold it to an elderly couple who then moved their son into the downstairs. Although we've had no interaction with them since, it was reported that there were several elderly that needed to be evacuated. No one was hurt except there was some smoke related care.
