Forum under attack by lots of something,

When bots attack a forum, it is not an actual person interacting with you.

Here's a breakdown:
  • Bots are Automated Programs: Bots are software applications designed to perform automated, repetitive tasks on the internet, according to NordVPN
  • They Mimic Human Behavior: Malicious bots, in particular, are programmed to imitate human actions to appear legitimate and avoid detection. This is what makes them challenging to distinguish from real users.

  • Spambots and Forum Attacks: A common type of malicious bot, spambots, can create fake accounts and post spam messages in forums. These might be irrelevant advertisements, malicious links, or even attempts to spread misinformation.
  • Limited Interaction: While some bots may be programmed to "converse" or respond in a seemingly human way, they typically follow preprogrammed scripts and cannot sustain genuine human interaction.
  • Advanced Bots and AI: The rise of advanced bots, including those leveraging AI, makes it increasingly difficult to differentiate between bots and human users.
In essence, when a forum is attacked by bots, it's a coordinated effort by malicious software, not a real person typing out each message.

they were everywhere I've never seen such an attack in 12 years.. used every name... instead of just one Bot.. there was dozens.... all different names

..howver as always they're no match for @Matrix..(y)
When I clicked MEMBERS tab on the blue bar just now, there are still several new members with no posts with join times between 5 - 6 AM (whatever time zone that is). It seems that SF time is California, which is now 7:48 AM as I write.

Most spam were made by spammer accounts created on Jul 14, more than 400.

Actually they are creating spam accounts diligently right now, some accounts make spam posts right away, some do it in the near future. No matter how difficult the anti-spam questions are, these young Indian spammers don't mind and can do it very quickly.
