Duke Fakir, the final surviving original member of the Motown icons the Four Tops, has died at the age of 88.

Fakir died at his home in Detroit, Michigan, on Monday morning, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The singer reportedly died from heart failure.

Fakir was part of the group's biggest hits, including the Billboard Hot 100 chart toppers I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch), which spent two nonconsecutive weeks in the top spot in 1965, and the 1966 hit Reach Out I'll Be There, which also spent two weeks at the top.

His death follows the death of his three former bandmates: Lawrence Payton, Obie Benson and Levi Stubbs.

What a fantastic band they were.... and all super good looking when they were young

I was aware that he was the last surviving member of the band. I had a chance to see the Four Tops at the Landmark Theater back in the 1980's. But the concert was cancelled, because the Landmark Theater usually cancelled concerts that were not sellouts. Along with the Drifters and the Temptations, I've been listening to the Four Tops since I was a teenager. Now he has joined Levi (lead singer), Obie & Lawrence, and are once again The Four Tops. R.I.P.

yes I've been listening to them since I was a teen too... they're music outclasses most others in the last 30 years... and will always be thought of as the greatest Motown music.. I never got the chance to see them live unfortunately
