Ah, if only I lived near one! Used to live near a national forest, admission was $2 about 5-10 years ago. Not a bad deal.

Yes,we bought the "old farts" pass last summer when we went to Lassen national Park. Had kids with us so it was way cheaper to buy the pass than to pay for our carfull. Works for anyone traveling in your vehicle with you too!

...and sometimes you get discounts on tours, etc., but only sometimes. Unfortunately, most of the national park campgrounds and facilities have been contracted out to private companies and they don't give discounts.
