Free TV and movies..... no more paying for movies or TV shows!

The other day I sat with my son watching the Thursday night football game and asked, “why doesn't everyone have one of these”? “Why would anyone buy DVD's or pay a subscription to watch movies or television show's”? It was a tight 4[SUP]th[/SUP] period between the Eagles and Panthers and my son was totally focused on the game, he just idly said “I don't know”. As for myself I have watched too many Eagles games where they were doing great for most of the game and lost it in the final minutes so I went back to ponder why would anyone spend money when they do not have to.

First lets get clear on one thing this is not a sponsored posting just my way of letting more people know about something called the 'TV Box' or when I was doing an online search the proper name was 'BOMIX mxq pro Android Tv Box'. So for an initial investment of $39 you can cut the strings to Netflix, Amazon Prime and all the other subscription based content providers.

I have found after a month of usage you can watch any TV series you want any time, even those older TV series that have not been aired for years. Added to that is you can watch any movie you want, again at any time even many of those movies still in theaters and do all of this without ever spending any additional money. Unlike many of the subscription services you are not charged the .99 or $1.99 for current episodes of some of the shows or even the $2.99 Amazon charges for semi-new movies. When you add that to the fact that you are not forced to decide between the limited content that the subscription services are offering and what more could you ask for.

Now you know I am an old curmudgeon and with me I always find a down side and as with most things in life there is no such thing as a free lunch and it is so even with the TV Box. When you first start to operate the 'Box' it can be intimidating and for this old fossil I was so frustrated at first it sat un-used for weeks because each time I started to use it I would get lost in the myriad of choices facing me to get it to work. However faced with running out of TV series to watch on Netflix one night I stayed with working the box until I had an Eureka moment.

Now I use it exclusively every night and watch whatever I want, because there is basically only a few steps to get you to the correct menu to chose whatever TV show or movie you want. Now here is the big down side to the TV Box, it is supplied with these movies and TV shows by ordinary people from around the world and as with everything in life the quality of what you will see sometimes varies. Not all providers to the TV Box have the money to have large, fast servers so there will be times when you click on on provider and not be able to get the best quality image or another provider may be overloaded and you will experience the dreaded 'buffering' logo, but the answer is simple just pick another provider and click on them and you will get a quality picture with no buffering.

No not a sponsored posting

just my attempt to spread the word

because

as long as you have a WiFi signal and the TV Box

you'll have whatever movie

or TV series

at your fingertips
for free!

Interesting!

Yes I had both Netflix and Amazon Prime and was looking to subscribe to CBS all access but finally figured how to make the TV Box work now I dropped all my paid subscriptions. I have to say it is not for everyone because sometimes I have to switch providers a couple times to get a movie to play right but when I watched the movie 'arrival' free while other were paying $$ or watched the complete TV series NYPD Blue, I knew it was worth the effort.

Hmmm, looks to be a computer set up as a media center, connecting to the internet and using typical apps such as youtube, espn, amazon_instant_video, cbs, hulu, sling_tv, netflix, fox, etc.

I don't see how a user can circumvent payment for Netflix, Hulu Amazon etc. ??

For myself, my goal is to dump DISH and am already set up to stream video, some free like Youtube, PBS and NatGeo, plus paid access- Netflix.

My TV is a "non smart" type so I use Google's Chromecast, with is itself a little computer-on-a-stick, plugged into the TV and being a wireless link to my internet service.

The hardware is impressive but I am curious what app you are using to watch all those TV Shows and movies for free albeit at different quality levels ? It wouldn't be the Kodi app with couple of plugins attached to it would it ? I'd rather pay for services such as Amazon,Netflix, Hulu, etc and know that the content I am getting is legally obtained over risking using a plugin to an app to get free stuff that is not legally obtained. I'm not saying that is what you are doing at all but everyone should beware of anything that is streaming for free, especially if it is a current movie or TV show. Most likely it is linked illegally from another country.

Yes it is and like some people I have rationalized that there are stations down here in Texas that broadcast 24/7 different drama and crime shows for free and if one went to CBS, ABC etc you can watch shows that are presently being broadcast then why not use this device. It is funny I never even considered that it was illigal until someone else mentioned it on my blog.

Thanx Pete. I may look into that, I really don't watch that much TV. Perhaps it'll renew my interest.

Based on some of the comments to my posting on my blog I guess i should mention that it may just be illegal to watch those shows or movies, though I never even considered it since I can see complete series of my favorite TV shows on local TV.

Where there is money to be made(or lost) there are efforts to protect that revenue stream.

Whatever content you can receive will not be "illegal", coming from a commercially available device like the BOMIX mxq. It would comply with the DMCA.

Our local electrical co-op installed fibre optics service in our area about a year ago...and we have tv, internet and phone service bundled through them. I have found dozens of channels and shows that I can watch on my computer at my leisure simply by signing on with my co-op logon. With 100MB speed on the internet, it's almost better than watching the show on TV. It seems that the good shows are always on at the same time, so this way, I can watch one, then go to the computer the next day and watch the one I missed. Plus, when the commercials come on, it gives me a choice for a 30 second ad, or the full 3 minute ad...I take the 30 seconds to get a drink of water, etc. This service is free, and doesn't require any special equipment, or subscriptions. The best part is that the monthly cost is $35 less than we were paying for satellite TV, and the phone/internet bundle.
