Frozen Apples

I've been looking for frozen apples, but they aren't available in local stores. They have strawberries, blueberries, mangoes and mixed fruits, but not just peeled and sliced apples. I wanted to know if anyone else has seen frozen apples in store or if they are even marketed. Maybe they don't store well frozen (like potatoes). I don't like canned apples - too sweet and slimy - and it would be a lot of work to core and peel enough raw apples for a large volume pot luck apple pie (9" x 13" pan).

One comment was that they get mealy when thawed, another said they're available from restaurant food suppliers.

I never peel the apples when I make fried apples or back in the old days when I actually made apple pies. I've always liked the "crunchiness" of the apple skins in recipes.
