Frozen Cooked Shrimp..wild or farmed

I have just discovered that the frozen shrimp I buy at local store is 'farm raised'.
I never knew there was such a thing.....thought they all came from the Oceans.

Tonight , I am going to have them with the dip we talked about in another thread

A neighbour picked up the pack for me today and as it was a different brand I checked it out.
It stressed wild , so I researched the brand I usually buy and yes , raised in a pond and fed different types of food!

Did y'all know that?
Which do you prefer ?

A lot would depend on the "pond" they're raised in. I've heard a lot of bad things about fish and shrimp from China that are raised in less-than-ideal "ponds".

I prefer wild caught raw, shell on, but the difference in price usually steer me towards farm/pond raised.

Like @jujube, I’ve read some terrible reports in pond raised seafood.

When I look back over my life at all of the vices and bad habits I’ve had, death by shrimp doesn’t seem likely.
