I saw a news story about a neighborhood that had a block party. People stayed on their own properties, well over 6 ft apart. They brought out their own food, drink and even had a line dance afterward.....6 ft or more apart of course. A good friend is thinking of organizing something similar in her neighborhood.
I saw a video of two young men hanging out their apartment windows playing ping pong. They were having fun and it was going well until the ball dropped. It seemed like they were 3 or more floors up.
Of course now celebrities are putting on these concerts from their own homes. Among them: Mariah Carey had her back up singers join in. Elton John did his thing. And some non celebrities are spreading musical joy....like a video I saw on this forum of several young people singing together but from their own homes. My son is spreading musical joy by providing live streams of himself DJ-ing dance music; this past Sunday it was praise and dance music. All who were watching could comment on the music and to each other in real time.
I've seen stories of people on their balconies singing together, exercising together and even giving the doctors and nurses battling this virus on the front lines, thanks and applause. Here is an article about some ways people are staying connected and bringing a bit of happiness.
