Funny childhood story for ya!

My wife always laughs when I tell this one!

My mom and I visiting grandma one day in the summer, getting close to lunch time, and Grandma and mom are talking about a new premiere show coming on television at noon called "As the world turns"! So I get all excited, and in disbelief that the ladies were interested in what I thought was a Buck Rogers space program! I get my lunch, get in front of telly, on comes this giant world turning, still all excited, than next scene, people in suits in apt. Having a boring conversation! Needless to say, I took my lunch outside! Felt scammed, was a real bummer!

Why don't they just combine all the soaps into one and be done with it?

They could advertise it as:

"As the World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful decide they have only One Life to Live and start a gang war with The Young and Restless. This confrontation lasts all the Days of Our Lives until The Edge of Night. All of My Children, or at least two or three of them, get shot and taken to General Hospital where they follow The Guiding Light as they Search for Tomorrow."

That soap should have something for everyone, huh?

I was never one for soap operas, though I have watched a few of the older ones from back in the 60's on YouTube, like Dark Shadows and The Edge of Night

Dark Shadows was a fun series! To bad they ended it without a climax, and left a lot of unhappy viewers. lol

What little amount of Soap watching I did when I was younger, I much prefer the old to the new.

My mom and I loved the Edge of Night. There was a character in the show named Sarah. My mom and I loved Sarah. During one episode they decided to have her die. I guess she wanted out of the show. We were so upset that when my dad came home from work my mom and I were in tears. We blurted out that Sarah had died. Of course he had no idea who Sarah was and thought it was quite funny that we got so emotional over a character in a soap.
