Garbage in Your Head?

By how ignorantly I played the classic social game Trivial Pursuits, one would expect mr dave is a moron. As an adult, I watched a little of of those inane tv shows mentioned, though extremely less than average others. Heck haven't had cable tv for decades. Instead, tended to live my life actively instead of watching others, and read lots of science and nature non-fiction books and materials that has been of great value in my life. And during working years read plenty of technology materials that really only had value in my hardware electronics career. Like all my semiconductor IC component application manuals and data books that technology has long passed by.

Useful then, garbage now. In any case, such brain learning memories gradually degenerate over time without regular use. I used to be able to modestly code in several computer languages however today only in HTML and with online help and old book references still could code some in C. Worse than filling ones mind with garbage is not filling it with much at all like some humans have spent their lives in social isolation as those in prison. Watching tv endlessly week after week, year after year, is but one step above that.

"When I think of all the cr*p I learned in high school,
It's a wonder I can think at all." --Paul Simon

That's not my problem, I daydreamed through high school.

The garbage I'd like to get rid of is all the psychology I learned in college along with all the psychology I read later in the 1970's just because I found it interesting, like, "The Three Faces of Eve" and, "Sybil," both about women with multiple personality syndrome, something we know now doesn't exist. What I learned in college has mostly been refuted, too. Sorry Mr. Freud it's not all about sex and bad mothers.

He probably thought that because he never got any.

Really?

Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)

Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is a mental health condition where you have two or more separate personalities that control your behavior at different times. When personalities switch, you’ll have gaps in your memory. The identities are usually caused by living through trauma. Psychotherapy can help you manage your symptoms.

I'm pretty good with some of the trivia TV game shows. When I think of it, I must know possibly a million "items" and I'm just your average genius ;).
I know Bugs Bunny's real name is George Washington Bunny, now, how can anybody call that "garbage". What some call "garbage", I call being educated.

I am in a mode of taking in the feeling of another. I'm reaching the point of giving up, but I never get there.

I await decisions and actions by another. I think my head is clear enough.

I watch Jeopardy! From time to time. It used to interest me to learn new things. But now, I find questions are either common knowledge or so obscure I have no way to recall them.

Then there's pop culture questions about todays forgettable actors and singers.

But what bothers me most is giving people a year's salary for knowing a bunch of stupid facts.

My head has never been full of garbage. The very thought! When I was younger I was often stoned and my mind was a blank but since it's been full of interesting valid questions and discussions.

Most recently, I was wondering which of the revolutions of the 1700s, the American or the French had the greatest impact on European royalty in the 19th and early 20th centuries? This is an interesting question which has never really been answered to my satisfaction. And who did their revolution better? America or France?

We did. The French went to that nutjob Napoleon. Also, we weren't stained by mass slaughters.
