General Petraeus betrayed us!

Giving his mistress classified info was a serious violation of security regulations. She was supposedly writing a biography of him but why she needed this material has not been explained. He was only slapped with a misdemeanor for this breach and will probably not serve any time. Surely this fall from grace deserves a stronger punishment...

One must consider exactly which part of General Petraeus actually betrayed us. That part needs to be kept securely away so that it can inflict no more harm.

Better than Prez Betrayus as he was being courted by the Repubs to become a candidate!

The penalty should be loss of military perks including pension, dishonorable discharge (even if done retroactively), and maybe a jolt in federal prison along with all profits from his book. Treason is bad enough but when done by our top General, unforgivable.

I really don't understand why it's so difficult for some men who are obviously intelligent (maybe even brilliant) to train themselves to consistently think with their brain in their public life/career and disregard the other organ. Is their sex drive so overpowering they really have to risk everything for the sake of gratification? Is it ego? They think they' so special they won't get caught?

I held the second highest Dept. of Defense security clearance, above Secret and not one time did I even think of betraying the trust placed in me. Once that knowledge is in your brain, you LOCK it there for the sake of your family, friends and even your own self. It is a very special trust placed in you. Why someone like this man would be so enamored with any woman as to betray his country, even himself by doing what he did is beyond me. I love women, but I also love my country.

It's not the same, but I feel the same way about HIPAA.. I have privy to all the medical information of anyone admitted to this hospital... including employees. Not one time did I ever feel the need to tell what I know about people. It's unethical and it's against the law..
