I saw that. I've been in the Sequoia forest. The smell (scent) of the trees is wonderful.

Probably a good idea, we would not want to lose it. However it is because of natural fire resistance that these trees get so old. The General Sherman tree has likely survived many fires.
Don't know how the tree got its name, Sherman burned my ancestor's house in Georgia!
