I've been using this OBi100 device for a few years now. It works with Google's free Google Voice service. Google Voice provides you with a phone number. The OBI100 device connects to my Internet Router. Google Voice & the OBI100 device work together very easily.
The neat trick is that I can actually make and receive phone calls using Google Voice and my computer! It's really helpful because I can't hold the phone to my ear very long.
