Get one now for only $19.95, get a free one for just shipping and handling.

"Get one now for only $19.95, get a second one for only shipping and handling." How many times have you heard that? There's some kind of plastic do-hicky, that probably will work once, maybe. And it's always something you can live without- like a left handed ketchup bottle holder, or something. Who really wants ONE of those things, never mind getting two? And why do most of the people hawking that junk have British accents?
Have you ever sent away for a $19.95 product, and ordered a second one? What did you order?

BTW, I found this $19.95 product on line. I ordered the second for only shipping and handling, just for you.

Oh that is beyond gross! I can't imagine anyone wanting it- other than 10-year-old boys!

I know what you mean about the ads, though- they're on t.v. all the time.

The "Pimple Popper" is silly but some products are actually great.
I have two of those "Spin Mops" & they're excellent. And the guy who demonstrates them does have a British accent. :)

You have to be careful, as sometime the hawker will say, "order one and we'll also send you a second one." Unless it emphatically states that the second one is only going to cost shipping and handling, beware, a friend of mine was suckered into having to pay for 2 of the same thing at the price stated. They are not all freebies. Never got anything that way myself and now I know I won't.

Or the ones that say you must 'pay a separate processing fee'.. but they don't say how much that fee is.

On the Rare occasion that one of these "As Seen on TV" ads is touting something that is actually useful, you can probably find the same item at your local Walmart or Target for 10 to 12 dollars.

What always got me was the "buy one, get a second one for only shipping and handling." You have to admit most of the products are on the weird side. You probably never use one of those things, never mind two. And for $19.95, you know it's the best craftsmanship, and top quality materials. BTW, have you noticed the $19.99 price, that is because ,in the US, to sue someone for fraud, inferior products,, and misrepresentation, the product has to be $20 and above.
