Getting older

WoW!!1 I've never heard that song before. I'm amazed it's was written by a 25 year old, and it's oh so true.

I always make a point of saying hello to older people on their own...sometimes just spark up a random chat at a park bench. I
I wish in the UK we had the same family values as they do in Spain and Italy, where the old all gather in the village square in the afternoons and chin wag or play board games ...and the families all look after their elders...


...so sad for those of us who don't have that any more .!!
 
Years ago, my late husband was a singer/guitarist in his spare time. One year, he was performing at a venue that was connected to Sea World and did "Hello in There" (he did a lot of John Prine). There was a large busload of senior citizens at the venue and they insisted that he sing the song again. Afterward, one of the ladies came up to him, thanked him and kissed him for doing the song.

That song is very dear to my heart.
