Getting Real About Changing Capabilities

The following meme was posted on a group i belong to elsewhere. The quote in the top half likely came from an advocacy group for disabled people. The second half someone talking about how they found it useful. It occurred to me and i pointed out to that group that it applies and is a helpful tool for thinking about and dealing with one's feelings about what one accomplishes in a day no matter what is limiting one's 'useable hours', including aging. While we all age differently and some have more health issues adding to the limits on their energy, eventually it does catch up with us all and slow us down to some degree.

I'm still struggling with adjusting to my reduced capacity for physical labor. i can if absolutely necessary push myself and do more but when i do i pay for it later. My body exacts a 'you have exceeded reasonable limits' tax. How are you dealing with it?

Thank you, @feywon ! This is so helpful. I too often try to do 'healthy people' stuff in a fibromyalgia flare which only worsens and prolongs it.
That was my goal in posting, if it helps even one other person learn to regulate their energy output so as not to use up what's available to them each day (and sometimes reduce their energy levels for days to come) it has served it's purpose. i plan on thinking about this a good a bit and be organized and attentive what i have to 'spend' in time/energy--so i can be a bit productive at least 4-5 days a week, without exhausting myself.
