It's only in recent years that we've been able to get back to enjoying trips to the theatre. Free travel with our seniors pass and the realisation that the major shows have a Thursday afternoon matinee. Yesterday we went to see "Crazy for you" - great Gershwin brothers music and fantastic acting. It was a relatively expensive show (for Scotland anyway) at about £35 a ticket - that's about $45 - $50, but worth every penny.
So, just wondering how much you pay to see a good show in your neck of the woods. I don't mean Broadway or the West End, just a quality touring production of a good musical. I've also wondered just how much it costs to put on these shows? I would guess a weeks run in Aberdeen would bring in around £200k ($275k) which considering the salaries, theatre hire, publicity, royalties etc.. doesn't seem an awful lot.
