The AMC channel is starting a new series this Sun (June 12, 9-10 p.m.) called Dark Winds, based on the Joe Leaphorn/Jim Chee books by Tony Hillerman. I thought that I had heard that it'd only be shown on AMC+ which we don't get but it will be on regular AMC after all, yay!

It stars Zahn McClarnon (been in a ton of stuff but the show I've seen him in was the Longmire series) as Leaphorn and Kiowa Gordon as Chee and a whole bunch of other fine actors. (I'm not familiar with the actor--Geraldine Keams--but I think I'm gonna like her character, Grandma Alice. :) )

OMG thanks for the reminder. I had noted the advertisements but had no idea they would be based on Tony Hillerman novels. I read them all. I really hope this series will be good. The PBS movies were.

I'm looking forward to this. I kept seeing the ads while, I watched "Better Call Saul," and it seemed
like the sort of atmospheric thing I like. I know some one who just loved the books.

I just watched episode 1 on demand today. So far like what I'm seeing. I'm going to watch it again.

Anyone? Was that the helicopter in the small lake? And perhaps a body?

Glad there is something on TV since I only have basic expanded cable.

I think it was both the helicopter and a body, pretty sure anyway.

Two episodes in and I'm hooked. I'm a little confused on a couple of things.

I knew that priest, if he is one really, was shady. Can't wait for the next episode.
