Good day to everyone

Mr. Ed

Be what you is not what you what you ain’t
Location

It snowed over night here, not much but enough for county snowplows to be out. Since the dealership offered to pay out my wife’s leased car reducing total cars to one, I drive my wife to and from work daily. Meanwhile I volunteer at the library two days week and anything else I choose to do. Mostly watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu or YouTube movies and computer.

I like dark fantasy movies, comedies, action/adventure, drama, mysteries, science fiction, and so on. At this moment I am watching Leon Russell Home Session on youtube. I like Leon Russel. Other musical genres include psychedelic/psychedelic rock, classic rock, hard rock, progressive/alternative and the heavy obscure. I enjoy music geared to mess with your mind.

I’m have weekly acupuncture sessions, at this time the acupuncture treatments are focused on weight loss, gives me energy and curbs my appetite.

We have 2 dogs and 5 cats.

You sound busy! I don't know if I could keep up with everything, like you do.

I don't know much about acupuncture, didn't know that it could be used for weight loss....how's it working for you?

Good day to you as well, Ed. Thank you for sharing a few details about yourself. Assuming you want others to respond with a few details as well...

Our weather was 69 degrees today in Dallas. We have had an extended Fall with no sign of Winter in sight. I'm not complaining. We were hit with below 0 temps in February that challenged our grids, left many without power for days and resulted in a number of casualties. We will correspond next Summer, when you are enjoying beautiful days outside and I am sheltering in air conditioning.

We still have two cars. Since retirement, I drive mine less than 5000 miles per year, so I am planning on hanging onto it for years. My partner drives a fair bit farther each day to his job at a non-profit that assists victims of domestic abuse. I feel fulfilled by staying fit, reading and walking outside every day. He fills fulfilled by... no need to explain. I volunteer at our local arboretum occasionally to stay socially connected. I traveled for much of my 35-year career, and he watched the house. Now it is my turn.

I like off-beat humor, like "Curb Your Enthusiasm". I love curmudgeons like Larry David. I like thought-provoking films like "The Rescue". My partner loves Marvel movies, so I look at them as an opportunity to take a nap. We both like horror films and great crime dramas like "The Sinner", "Dexter: First Blood" and, most recently, "Yellowjackets" on TV. Dark stuff, yes.

As you get acupuncture, I get deep tissue massages once a month. I find them incredibly therapeutic. I can never understand why massage therapist still find "stress knots" in my shoulders since I am now retired, but...

We have two male cats. We have been together for over 30 years and have always had one, two or even three cats. We love dogs, but I found with my travel over the years that cats were just easier to take care of.

In 1975 mental illness significantly changed my life. I tried part time employment but couldn’t maintain a job more than a couple of weeks. The Social Security Administration determined me to gainfully employed even though I wasn’t working so I lost disability and medicare benefits. I stopped trying to work and became a stay-at-home dad raising two lovely daughters while my wife worked full-time and attended college.

The kids grew up and moved on with their lives while I remained a heavy smoker in the laundry room. I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and stayed overnight in a distant hospital. Prior to my discharge my removed all traces of tobacco from the house and I haven’t used any tobacco products since then with little or no withdrawal symptoms.

My time came after an unintentional overdose around Easter time, March 2015. Realizing what I had done I called my wife at her job the receptionist answered but could not understand my slurred speech. Frustrated, I yanked the phone cord out of the wall and was drawn into the bathroom where I disrobed, drew back the shower curtain, turned on the shower and entered at the top side of the tub. I do not recall how long I was in the shower; more significantly is that I exited the shower at the opposite end in which I entered. Ultimately, my experience was a resurrection of sorts from my prior life of wandering.

Suddenly, after 34 years of symptomatic mental illness, I inherited the methods and means to achieve happiness, respect and intelligence for gainful employment and a college education with academic concentration on AAS chemical dependency counseling and BAS Human Services.

January 2022, my wife and I celebrate our 42 anniversary.

Acupuncture is amazing! The weight loss treatment I receive involves alternating electric currents between both feet. I’ve had acupuncturist in the past but the person I have now is extremely knowledgeable of body pressure, cross pressure points and how the body communicates with it’s self. It was through acupuncture years ago that helped me stop tobacco use.
